The Perfect Plan:
Day 1 Afternoon:
- Put the dog in a kennel for a couple of days – do stuff without the dog – YES! – check!
- Spend the afternoon in Park City looking in shops on main street, galleries, candy, fun, fun, fun. – check!
- Try out a new restaurant – check!
- Go to the movies – check!
- Plan some mountain bike trail rides for next day. – check!
Day 2 – Full day without dog!! 🙂
- Get up early the next morning – Nope – got sick from some food last night – up all night then slept in late.
- Rent a jet ski or Kayak and ride Jordanelle lake! – Nope – kennel called said dog has problem with foot – swollen – had to go see dog’s foot.
- Afternoon mountain bike rides in nearby hills – miles of trails – what a blast! – Nope, spent afternoon in vet office – dog broke toe – is getting splint.
Day 3 Morning:
- Morning hikes near lake, maybe rent paddle board before checkout at 2:00pm, go pick up dog from Kennel – Nope, will have to take care of crippled dog! Can’t go back to kennel – hobbling at campsite – no where to go.
And that’s your perfect 2 day plan in Park City, Utah.
Waiting for Vet to review X-Rays of right rear foot.
Vets diagnosis:
- Broken toe.
- Bone punctured through flesh.
- Swollen and infected.
- Toe must be reset and splinted (or amputated).
- New round of 3 meds, twice a day.
- Vet bill – $375
- Repaired and happy dog – Priceless (well actually $375 + lost days of fun!)
I kinda think she did it on purpose. Doesn’t she have a guilty look about her?
That’s too bad. Last summer we were in Park City and did most of the things on your perfect two day plan. Mountain biking down the trails was by far the funnest thing I’ve done in a long while from an adrenaline rush type activity! But hey, you have no schedule, stay longer and make your two day plan a reality!
